Probably made by a third party yo-yo manufacturer. Made out of American hardwood maple from Maine. This yo-yo came with the softbound Klutz Yo-Yo book by John Cassidy and published in 1987 by Klutz Press of Palo Alto, California. ISBN: 0932592163
