Whimsy (based in Hong Kong) "Lessur" is a 21st century yo-yo maker's interpretation of the ubiquitous plastic Jack Russell Coke yo-yo. The name "Lessur" is supposed to be "Russell" spelled backwards, but they dropped the extra "L" to make the name easier to pronounce. Unfortunately, the name of the yo-yo was not added to the sidecaps for ease of future identification... a perpetual problem with many of today's yo-yos.

Unlike the agile and light plastic Jack Russell Coke yo-yos of the past—a looping favorite of 1996 World Yo-Yo Champion Dale Myrberg—this aluminum version was a brick. It was simply too heavy for one- or two-handed looping. Oddly enough, there is a dubious video on the Internet that supposedly shows a player using this exact same model of yo-yo performing two-handed looping... with exceptional ease and speed. However, the 92 gram weight of this yo-yo is highly uncharacteristic of any looping yo-yo ever made. The weight of all high-quality looping yo-yos falls approximately between 50-55 grams. As such, the Whimsy Lessur served best as nothing more than a paperweight, and was likely fake in the video. Used a size B bearing which is uncommon.

Original retail price: $28 US
