The Museum of Yo-Yo History is a labor of love, and we would not be able to stay up-to-date with exhibits without the support of our sponsors and curators. Big thanks go to One Drop Design and Duncan for supplying us with their latest models, YoYoExpert for their help and support, and to Cody Orr, TotalArtist and YoYoBrothers™ for allowing us to use their collections!

A Firestorm yo-yo. Number five of six Yomega yo-yos offered by McDonald's between November 21 and December 21, 2000.

With a traditional yo-yo, the string loops around the axle. With a transaxle, a special, low-resistance plastic ring slips over the axle. The string wraps around the outside of the ring. With a yo-yo, such as the Yomega FIRESTORM the string never touches the axle. Not only does the ring (i.e. spool) permit extra long spins, it also gives the string a longer life.

"With the purchase of any Yomega/McDonald's X-Brain or Firestorm for $2 (food purchase necessary), you could be the proud new owner of a Power Brain. Inside every package looms the chance of winning this new generation of yo-yo."

Original retail price: $4 US.
