The Museum of Yo-Yo History is a labor of love, and we would not be able to stay up-to-date with exhibits without the support of our sponsors and curators. Big thanks go to One Drop Design and Duncan for supplying us with their latest models, YoYoExpert for their help and support, and to Cody Orr, TotalArtist and YoYoBrothers™ for allowing us to use their collections!

Duncan Runner-up - Bonomo's Turkish Taffy
Exhibit #2034
Size114 mm
OwnerRick Brough

Bonomo's (pronounced BAH-nuh-moh) Turkish Taffy Duncan Yo-Yo Runner-Up patch. Based on the back of the patch, it appears that you could iron it onto a piece of clothing.

Compare to the Winner version which has a larger diameter.

The exact year that this patch was issued is unknown but it is probably from the early to mid 1940s. "Bonomo's Turkish Taffy" and "Turkish Taffy" became registered trademarks in the U.S. in 1946, but there is no "TM" next to the name on this patch.

This patch may have been the forerunner to the more familiar--and popular--three-color Duncan/Bonomo shield patch.

Very hard to find.
